Where we work
Pelican operates through two distinct practices, joined by a common approach: define the basis, surface the real choices and leave a decision-ready record.
Process Safety
Facilitation and technical support for teams assessing process hazards, safeguards and escalation scenarios. The work is grounded in the facility basis and documented for accountable follow-through.

Recent events
Short updates from Pelican's Process Safety and Energy practices. New entries will be added here as work advances and public milestones are reached.
Energy R&D
Pelican is developing site-specific concepts that pair modular AI computing with existing power and water infrastructure, using Valora thermal cascade valorization to explore productive uses for recovered compute heat.
Explore AI Pods XEnergy R&D
A U.S. provisional patent application was filed for the integrated AI Pods X and Valora concept. The filing establishes a patent-pending basis while project-specific engineering and commercial development continue.
Process Safety
Pelican's Process Safety practice has supported HAZOP and LOPA work across crude, conversion, treating and utility systems, with controlled study records and final-report development.
Representative experience
These examples are limited to engagements supported by the project archive and already-public project summaries. Confidential detail remains out of view.
HAZOP and LOPA support across crude, conversion, treating and utility systems for a West African refinery.
PHA · HAZOP · LOPA
Concept studies comparing fixed and floating production approaches and the reuse of existing North Sea infrastructure.
Concept · Estimate · Sensitivities
Focused advisory support for a competitive floating production tender.
Tender · Technical review
Contract, performance-test and operations advisory across lease, EPC, O&M and BOOT structures.
Commercial · Performance · O&M
Techno-commercial review of a deepwater development's floating production FEED.

Research & development
The portfolio below is separate from completed consulting work. Each item remains research or concept development unless expressly stated otherwise.
Internal methods & tools
An AI-assisted, source-traceable workflow that reads engineer-marked drawings to capture equipment-grid references, P&ID locations, drawing numbers and HAZOP nodes; uses that structured basis to populate OpenPHA; and extracts structured study information into controlled final reports. It supports engineers and traceability—it does not make autonomous engineering judgments or replace facilitation, Technical Authority review or approval.
Concept portfolio
An offshore infrastructure concept integrating power generation, modular compute and optional fresh-water production on a marine platform.
